General Rules:
Article I
A. All members and their parent/guardians must abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Reality Ranch Rodeo. All members and their parents/guardians are responsible for reading and fully understanding the Rules and regulations of the Reality Ranch Rodeo. Not understanding said Rules and Regulations will be no excuse for noncompliance with said Rules and Regulations.
All members and their parents/guardians must accept the decision of the judges and/or arena Director (or designee) as final. Misconduct of a contestant or representative may cause a disqualification of said contestant. This includes arguing with the judge. If at any time a parent or contestant argues with a judge, the judge first warns the parent or contestant of possible consequences and if the argument persists the contestant cane disqualified for the remainder of the rodeo.

Draw outs: call the above numbers, must speck to entry secretary, DO NOT leave message.
Any contestant or parent/guardian who call-in and then fails to show up at the assigned rodeo to participate in his/her entered events will pay double entry fees your next competition show
Rough stock events - All contestants must wear protective vest and mouth piece
Helmets are required in the mutton busting.
Due to inclement weather or arena conditions, Officers and Directors will meet to discuss on the safety of the contestants for the rodeo. Any changes will be posted 863-781-3374
Any rules not covered in Reality Ranch Rodeo Rules, shall refer to the rules and guidelines set up by the All Florida Junior Rodeo Association.
ONLY the contestant and one helper will be allowed behind the bucking chutes at ANYTIME. Failure to comply with this rule will result in disqualification of the contestant you are with or suspending of the said body from the rodeo for the rest of the rodeo season.
Rough stock contestant must have a hand stamp and their helper must have a hand stamp. Hands will be stamped at the entry booth, rider must have helper with him at time of stamping.
Articles
II
All events will be open to kid’s ages 17 years old and under... The rough stock event will be open to boys & girls. Mutton busting ages 6 and under or 60lbs or less. Calf riding ages 8 & under. Steer Riding ages 9-12. Junior Bull Riding 13-14.
Senior Bulls 15 -17yrs. Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping ages: Tots 6 and under, juniors 9-13 yrs, seniors 14-17 yrs.
During ALL events, ONLY contestants and arena help will be allowed in the arena. Contestants will be allowed in when it is their turn. Contestants will be allowed to have a parent, other adult, or contestant in the arena to assist them.
Points will be awarded to the top ten contestants in each event. Points will be disturbed according to placing in each event.
a) First Place will receive 10 points
b) Second Place will receive 9 points
c) Third Place will receive 8 points
d) Fourth Place will receive 7 points
e) Fifth Place will receive 6 points
f) Sixth Place will receive 5 points
g) Seventh Place will receive 4 points
h) Eight Place will receive3 points
i) Ninth Place will receive 2 points
j) Tenth Place will receive 1 point
k) All ties will be added together and split between contestants. Example: First and second will each receive 10 + 9 points = 19 divided by 2 = 9.5 each.
l) Ties: Both contestants will receive a prize, in the case that we are short on prizes a coin toss will determine which contestant will take home the prize until others are received.
m) In the Calf Riding and the Steer Riding double points will be awarded to the qualifying times in order of the judges scoring, none qualifying 6 second rides will receive single points in order from the longest ride time to the shortest ride time and after the scoring of the qualifying rides.
n) Barrels and Poles points will be awarded from the fastest time to the slowest time and these times will include penalties.
There will be an All-Around Cowboy and an All around Cowgirl in each age group at the end of the series, determined by points over the 6 month series. In order to be eligible for the All–Around Award the contestant must enter at least 3 events at the rodeo, and must attend at least 3 rodeos.
A contestant can be disqualified (DUE TO SAFETY FACTOR) if in the opinion of the Director or judge there is danger to the contestant, other contestants or by-standers.
All contestants will be ready for their event(s). Contestants will be called (3) times for their event. If said contestant is not at the entry gate that contestant will receive a NO TIME.
Article
III
Mutton Bustin
Limited to 20 Riders
Time limit
The sheep will be ridden for six (6) seconds.
Two times will be kept one for 6 seconds and one till the rider’s falls off.
In cases were there are no (6) second rides the back up time of the longest ride will determine the winner.
The time will start when the animal’s inside front shoulder passes the plane of the chute.
Helmets must be wore
The contestant will have one (1) minute from the time he/she sets on the sheep till the gate is open, provide the sheep is ready, if contestant does not call for the gate before the time is up, they will be disqualified. This is at the discretion of the Judges and arena director.

IV
Calf Riding
Limited to 15 Riders
Time limit
1. The calf will be ridden for six (6) seconds.
2. The time will start when the animal’s inside front shoulder passes the plane of the chute.
3. Two times will be kept one for 6 seconds and one till the rider’s falls off.
4. In cases were there are no (6) second rides the back up time of the longest ride will determine the winner.
5. Points will be awarded as followed. Any 6 second ride will receive double points by the judges scoring. Any ride under 6 seconds will only receive single points if awarded.

Event Rules
1. No finger warps, no knots or hitches to prevent the rope from falling off the steer when the rider leaves him are allowed.
2. No more than one person may be on the chute to pull the contestants rope.
Scoring and Penalties
1. The ride and the animal are to be marked separately.
2. The ride will be marked according to how much the contestant spurs the animal.
3. Figures used in marking, the riding events shall range from one (1) to twenty-five (25) on both the bucking animals and contestant, and use the full spread.
4. If the contestant makes a qualified ride with any part of the rope in the riding hand, he is to be marked.
5. Contestant s will received no score for any of the following offenses:
a) Being bucked off
b) Touching the animals with the free hand.
c) Placing spurs or chaps under the rope when the rope is being tightened.
6. Judges may disqualify a contestant who has been advised that he is next to go if he is not above the animal with his glove on when the previous steer leaves the arena.
7. A contestant can be disqualified (DUE TO SAFTEY FACTOR) if in the opinion of the Director or judge there is danger to the contestant, other contestants or by-standers.
Rerides
1. The matter of rerides shall be decided by the judges.
2. Contestants shall not influence the judges by asking for a reride at any time.
3. If a reride is given, the judges shall inform contestant immediately of his score and the option of a reride.
4. A contestant may refuse a reride and take his marking.
5. Contestant must make his decision immediately.
6. No ride will be given due to faulty or broken equipment furnished by the contestant in any event.
7. Rerides may be given only when stock fails to break, stops or fouls the rider.
8. If in opinion of the judges a rider makes two honest efforts to get out on a chute fighting animal and is unable to do so, he may have a reride.
9. Contestants who are fouled at the chute will be entitled to a reride at the judge’s discretion.
10. If an animal falls down exiting the chute, a contestant will be given a reride at the judge’s discretion.
11. A contestant may be given a reride if the flank comes off or breaks provided the contestant completed a qualified ride.
12. If a rider takes the same animal back, he must take the marking given on the reride.
Article
V
Steer Riding
Limited to 15 Riders
A. Time limit

Limited to 15 Riders
A. Time limit
1. The bull will be ridden for six (8) seconds.
2. The time will start when the animal’s inside front shoulder passes the plane of the chute.
3. ONE time will be kept one for 8 seconds
4. Points will be awarded by the judges scoring.
Event Rules
5. No finger warps, no knots or hitches to prevent the rope from falling off the steer when the rider leaves him are allowed.
6. Stock will be drawn for each contestant.
7. No more than one person may be on the chute to pull the contestants rope.

45. If a rider takes the same animal back, he must take the marking given on the reride.

VI
Barrel Racing
A. Time limit
1. A contestant has two (2) minutes to enter the arena once the arena is ready and their name has been called for the first gate call. This results in a no-time.
2. A contestant will be allowed fifteen (15) seconds from the time they enter the arena until the time is started by the automatic electric timer.
3. Contestant are required to be checked in the holding area behind the alley at least 5 riders before they run
4. Only 5 riders are allowed in the holding area at a time.
B. General Rules
1. A clearly visible staring line shall be provided.
2. The horse’s nose will be timed as it crosses the starting line.
3. A contestant may enter the arena at the speed of his/her choice.
4. During barrel racing event, the arena will be dragged at regular intervals to be determined by the arena director.
5. The arena gate must be closed immediately after the contestant enters the arena and kept closed until the pattern is completed and the horse is under control.
6. It is up to the contestant to make the call if the arena is ready.
7. The starting gate will remain the same throughout the entire rodeo.
8. Contestants may compete on more than one horse; points will be awarded only to the fastest time.
9. Points will be awarded by the FASTEST to the LOWEST time including times with penalties.
C. Scoring and Penalties
1. Knocking over a barrel is a five (5) second penalty per barrel knocked over.
2. Not following the cloverleaf pattern will receive a no time.
3. If the horse recrosses the starting line at any time before the pattern is completed the pattern will be considered broken and the run will receive a no time.
4. If the contestants horse breaks the timer light by backing through it before starting the pattern, time will be considered started.
5. A contestant can be disqualified (DUE TO SAFETY FACTOR) if in opinion of the Director or judge if there is danger to the contestant, to other contestants or by-standers.
D. Reruns
1. No rerun will be given due to faulty or broken equipment furnished by the contestant.
2. If a time is missed due to timer’s fault or malfunction of timer’s the contestant will receive a rerun at a time so designated by the judge’s and the arena director. And will NOT carry penalties to the rerun.

VIII
Goat Tying
A. Time limit
1. There will be a sixty (60) times limit.
2. The arena gate must be closed immediately after the contestant enters and must be kept closed until the run is over.
3. A contestant may enter the arena at the speed of his/her choice.
4. The time is to be taken between two flags.
5. Time stops when the contestant signals the completion of the tie.
6. The timing of the tie will begin when the contestant stands three (3) feet clear of the goat.
7. The stakes will be a minimum of one hundred (100) feet from the starting line.
B. Scoring and Penalties
1. Timed event judge will not flag the contestant out until time is recorded.
2. The tie will be passed on by the field judge and if it is not secure for six (6) seconds, the contestant will receive a “no time”
3. If the horse comes in contact with the goat or rope anytime during the run, whether mounted or dismounted, there will be a ten second penalty.
4. If the goat should breakaway because of the fault of the horse while the contestant is mounted, the contestant will receive a “no time”. A contestant is still mounted until both feet are on the ground. If the horse runs over the rope with rider dismounted, then rider shall receive a flag. Then shall be allowed to tie from accumulated time from point of foul.
5. A contestant can be disqualified (DUE TO SAFTEY FACTOR) if in the opinion of the Director or judge there is danger to the contestant, other contestants or by-standers.

IX
Breakaway Roping
A. Time limit
1. There will be a sixty (60) second time limit on Tots
2. There will be a forty five (45) second time limit on Juniors
3. There will be a thirty (30) second time limit on seniors.
B. General Rules
1. The roping box shall be part of the arena during roping
2. Once the score line has been set in timed events it will not change in the rodeo, nor can the length of the box be changed.
3. If lap and tap ~no barrier will be used in this case. The time will start when the animal crosses the line and is flagged by the line judge, or the time will start when the animal’s nose clears the gate. This will be up to the Director and judge.
4. The calf belongs to the contestant when he/she calls for it regardless of what happens, with the following exceptions:
a) If the calf gets out of the arena, the flag will be dropped and the roper gets the calf back with lap and tap, with the time added which was accrued when the calf left the arena.
b) In cases of mechanical failure
5. In breakaway calf roping a horse must clear the box before the loop is thrown
6. When lap and tap is used the horse must stand backed into the corner of the box.
C. Event Rules
Two loops will be allowed if two ropes are carried, or rebuilding of first loop is permitted.
The rope must be attached to the horn so that when the calf hits the end of the rope the rope is released from the horn. This is the contestant’s responsibility.
A white cloth must be attached to the end of the rope at the saddle horn so the judge can tell when the rope breaks from the horn.
The catch as catch can rule shall apply after the loop has passed over the calf’s head.
The rope has to be released from the contestants hand to be a legal catch
.D. Scoring and Penalties
Roping the calf without releasing the loop from the hand will disqualify the catch.
The contestant shall receive a no time should he/she break the rope away from the saddle horn by hand. However, if the rope should dally around the horn the contestant may ride forward and undally the rope, then stop their horse to make the rope breakaway.
E. Reruns
See general rules 4. a
When there is an electric timer malfunction the contestant will be given a clean rerun at a time so designated by the judge and the arena director.
If the judge sees that he made an error in flagging he must declare a rerun before the contestant leaves the arena.
Article X
Dally Team Roping
A. Time Limit
There will be a sixty (60) second time limit or two lopes which ever comes first.
B. General Rules
1. The roping box shall be part of the arena during roping
2. Once the score line has been set in timed events it will not change in the rodeo, nor can the length of the box be changed.
3. If lap and tap ~no barrier will be used in this case. The time will start when the animal crosses the line and is flagged by the line judge, or the time will start when the animal’s nose clears the gate. This will be up to the Director and judge.
4. The steer belongs to the contestant when he/she calls for it regardless of what happens, with the following exceptions:
a. If the steer gets out of the arena, the flag will be dropped and the roper gets the steer back with lap and tap, with the time added which was accrued when the steer left the arena.
b. In cases of mechanical failure
5. In the team roping horse must be clear of the box when the lope is thrown.
6. The headers roper’s horse must stand in the back of the box
C. Event Rules
1. A team roper can only enter once at a rodeo with the partner of his or her choice.
2. The headers horse must stand back in the corner of the box.
3. Headers must start from behind the score line.
4. The heeler must start from behind the score line.
5. The time will be taken when the steer is roped and both horses are facing the steer in line (l-shape or better) with the ropes dallied and tightened. Dally must be kept until inspected by the judge.
6. Each contestant will be allowed to carry ONLY one (1) lope.
7. Each team will be allowed 2 throws in all.
8. No tied ropes will be allowed
9. The word “dally” means one complete turn around the saddle horn.
10. The ropers must be mounted when the time is taken.
11. The steer must stand up when roped by either head or heel.
12. No foul catches can be removed by hand.
13. If the steer is roped by only one horn the rider is not allowed to ride up and put the rope over the other horn, or the head with his or her hand.
14. If the heeler ropes a front foot or feet in the heel loop, this is a foul catch. Neither contestant may remove the front foot or feet from out of the heel loop.
D. Scoring
1. There will only be three legal head catches
2. Both horns, half head, around the neck.
3. If the hondo passes over one horn and the loop over the other, the catch is illegal.
4. If the loops figure eights around the horns, it is illegal.
5. Bridle catches are legal
6. Any heel catch behind the shoulders is legal if the rope goes up the heels.
7. One hind foot catch received a five (5) second penalty.
8. A broken rope or a dropped loop will be considered as a “no time”.

When there is an electric timer malfunction the contestant will be given a clean rerun at a time so designated by the judge and the arena director.If the judge sees that he made an error in flagging he must declare a rerun before the contestant leaves the arena
